I have one and recommend it.  You do have to have a way to set it up near a sink for convenience as you put water in the top barrel and the water filters to the bottom barrel.  For convenience, for a family, for large usage, you would not want to be walking across a room to fill it.  Other than that, it is very good.  Get in a habit of filling it as you are waiting for something else . . . the toast to cook, the popcorn to pop, the coffee to heat.  It’s not that difficult.  You have to replace the filter from time to time and that depends on usage, on the amount of water filtered.
